Vision & Mission
The Sikh religion has always taught its disciples that when a group of people are united behind a common cause, the outcome of that cause is in their hands.
The Illinois Sikh Community Center, with the teachings and the examples of the Sikh faith before it, wish to establish a gurdwara in the South Chicago suburbs.
This dream is shared by hundreds of Sikhs living in the south Chicago suburbs and thus the Illinois Sikh Community Center has been founded to accomplish this goal.
The outline of our dream are:
- Establish a Sikh Gurdwara and provide a place of worship
- Channel collective talent of the Sikh community and harness them for the furtherment of Sikh wellbeing and interests.
- Establish a library which will serve as a reference and resource center for those interested in Sikhism.
- In the spirit of the Sikh teachings, support charitable causes affecting the community.
- It is only with the help and determination of the community that this dream will one day be realized.
